Johnson County, Iowa

Johnson County is located in East Central Iowa. It is named for Richard Mentor Johnson, ninth vice-president of the United States.

The seat and largest city is Iowa City, which is home to the University of Iowa.

It borders Linn, Cedar, Muscatine, Louisa, Washington, Iowa and Benton Counties.

Main routes include I-80, I-380, US-6, US-218/IA-27, IA-1 and IA-22.
